I hate dealing with coaches that think they know how to coach but that don't have a clue. Does anyone know the final date before you can no longer ask for a release? I'm talking about the GTHL. What if the team doesn't give you a release... then what?

That's tough. I would have a conversation with the coach to voice your concerns. If that doesn't work, then just leave regardless of what transpires as it will be better for your kid.
